Protecting your privacy is important to us. Birthcase follows a Privacy by Design approach: birthday-related information is stored locally on your device and is only transmitted to third-party services when strictly necessary to provide the gift recommendation feature.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The Application allows users to store and manage birthday reminders.

Information About Saved Contacts

• First name
• Age
• Relationship type (parent, friend, colleague, spouse, etc.)
• Birthday
• Gift budget
• Gift ideas
• Personal notes

All of this information is stored exclusively on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers during the normal operation of the Application.

3. Notifications

Birthcase uses your device's local notification system to remind you of upcoming birthdays.

These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No personal data is transmitted to external servers for this feature.

4. Gift Recommendation Feature

When you request gift recommendations, certain information is temporarily transmitted to our servers in order to generate personalized suggestions.

The transmitted information may include:

• An anonymous user identifier;
• An anonymous recipient identifier;
• The user's age;
• The recipient's age;
• The relationship type;
• The intended gift budget;
• The recipient's interests or preferences;
• Additional information voluntarily provided by the user.

No email address, phone number, postal address, or any other directly identifiable personal data is transmitted.

5. Use of OpenAI

The information required to generate gift recommendations is transmitted to the OpenAI API.

This data is used solely to generate the recommendations requested by the user.

We do not retain this information on our servers after the request has been processed.

6. Data Retention

Data stored within the Application remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Application.

Information transmitted for gift recommendations is not retained on our servers.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or commercially distribute users' personal data.

The only data shared is the information necessary for OpenAI to provide the gift recommendation feature.

8. Advertising and Commercial Links

At this time, Birthcase does not include advertisements, affiliate programs, sponsored content, or commercial links.

If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data processed by the Application.

However, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security.

Since most data is stored locally on your device, you can modify or delete it directly within the Application.
